KRW LAW RESPONSE TO LEGACY MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

KRW LAW RESPONSE TO LEGACY MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The pro active approach evident in today’s announcement is welcomed by our clients in today’s proceedings but also by all parties to legal proceedings in legacy matters.

The effort that has been signalled to expedite Judicial Review cases will permit families to engage and participate and have their concerns heard expeditiously.

There remains a job of work to be done on civil actions. The families of victims and survivors stand ready to engage in any process aimed at expediting not just judicial review case but all civil cases involving litigation against the Chief Constable and MoD.

This is a mammoth task but the interests of justice demand that this task be confronted and that the State’s international legal duty be discharged.

We appreciate that we live in uncertain times but today’s announcement demonstrates strong judicial leadership in a political vacuum and our clients will welcome every opportunity to fully engage in any review.
