This accolade follows recent nominations in the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) Awards for Legal Aid Firm of the Year and two of the firm’s lawyers being named as The Times Lawyer of the Week.

Chambers signalled out Senior Partner Kevin R Winters:

“a leading solicitor who has a superb strategic oversight of a number of the most important public law cases in Northern Ireland,” according to a commentator. Sources add that he is “one of the main market leaders” as he is “highly principled, hard-working and determined” and has a “real strategic approach to litigation. He is a leading light in public and coronial law cases and is lauded for his expertise in complex, historic, multi-death inquests.”

Chambers continued:

“they (KRW) have a huge breadth of work and a very well-earned reputation for being fearless in their approach and fighting their clients’ cases to the utmost degree.” According to another commentator, “they have unrivalled commitment and passion in the face of long investigation and judicial review processes. Not many firms would put in that level of commitment.”

Chambers noted the work undertaken by KRW in The Birmingham Pub Bombing (1974) Inquest. Kevin R Winters said today:

“The Chambers Band 1 ranking is a recognition of the hard work put in by a very loyal team of niche practitioners who are committed to securing truth recovery and closure for many families bereaved as result of the Conflict. We are proud to represent relatives of victims and survivors of the Conflict across Ireland and England, as well and across the community.”
